BHS Approved Livery Yard

Checkendon Equestrian Centre has the perfect facilities for you to keep your horse at livery. There are many turn out fields for the horses to graze in, all of which are grazed or rested alternately to maintain good grazing throughout the year. Livery owners are allowed to use the horse walker and wide variety of show-jumps and cross-country jumps that are on site as and when they wish free of charge. There is no restricted access to the horses, so owners may come up to the Centre and ride at whatever time they wish.

Owners also have the added benefit of all the equine therapy that we can offer here at Checkendon. The therapies can be used for a number of reasons and it is never a problem to add one to your horses routine.

Three types of livery are available to you:-

Schooling Livery

The horse will be schooled for you throughout the week by an appropriately experienced members of staff. The members of staff will concentrate on improving your horse and working on the horse according to its individual requirements. This is ideal if you do not have the time and/or experience yourself to bring on and improve your horse. We are also able to compete your horse for you.

Full Livery

Your horse will be exercised for you by one of our staff with the necessary experience. This is also an ideal solution to the problem of not having enough time during the week to exercise your horse. There are several horses here at the Centre on schooling livery and full livery, and you can relax, safe in the knowledge that your horse is being well looked after and exercised for you by our experienced and professional staff here.

Part Livery

Part livery is ideal for those people who have enough time to exercise their horse, but not enough time to provide the necessary stable management.

Swimming Livery

Swimming livery is for those that would like their horses to swim and perhaps live to far away to come on a regular basis. Or for those that are going away and want their horse to maintain fitness. Perhaps your horse is coming up to a competition and you want to increase his fitness but the ground is too hard.

Your horse will swim every day.

You can also add extras such as equissage sessions or a massage for your horse.
